LAVACA

In September the Lavaca Middle School elected 11 students to the Student Council. The student council is made up of 2 class representatives from 5th-8th grade, President, Vice President, and a Secretary. Students that wanted to run for a position had to create posters and give a speech in front of their peers. The student council members will work alongside the teachers and staff  to create various school events and community service projects. Currently the student council is hosting a food drive for the Lavaca Food Pantry. The organization allows students to use their leadership skills and take part in decision making. The student council has a suggestion box in the library media center for students to make comments and suggestions.
